Distress.
The last time I’d watch the fireworks with them all.
The laughter strained, we knew it was the final days.
As my ex-wife was distracted and wanted to get away.
If only she just cheated on me, well that would be fine;
But she stole away my children, and what little time
We had left, as adulthood dawned. Now our time is expired and all gone.
But the darkness in me I suppress, trying to color the world bright in my distress.
