Morning Thoughts
We lost something important along the way. American’s have lost substance, character, that true grit we once had; whether hard right traditionalist or the emerging hippie generation that was produced in a post World War Two society. Today people are this and that, dressing and needing to look and show the part they play. Like some spectacular cover of a book, that once you delve deep into the pages you come up lacking. We are at a crossroads and the young and old cannot comprehend what is happening. We are standing at the edge of the abyss, most young people have no idea of who or what they are, so they fall headlong into that dark, shadowy void.
Where do we go from here? I asked many times before, but nobody seems to know. Not the leaders of the world, not the religious community, it is all sinking so fast. What happened to the American Dream? Hell Dr. Thompson showed us it was a shell of its former self by 1971, today it is dust in the wind. How do we get that feeling back? How do we energize and entice the younger generations to fight for a better place to exist?
Or is it too late? Have we spent all the most wonderful and beautiful moments in that small corner of time we look back upon. Is it all just nostalgic crap to be flushed with the dawning of a new self absorbed, narcissistic self and world? I don’t know but I will continue to ponder.
